Dance Effects 2007-2008 Dress Code

 

General Rules:

  • Appropriate dance basics such as leotards, tights, exercise shorts, jazz pants, sports bras, etc. must be worn.
  • Warm-up clothing such as sweat-shirts and sweat-pants can be worn over appropriate basics. Extra layers are important in assisting muscles throughout the warm-up process, but must be removed when the warm-up process in completed.
  • Excessive baggy clothing is not acceptable.
  • Street clothes are not acceptable.
  • Hair must be worn up and out of the face.

Ballet:

Tiny Dancers, Creative Movement, Pre-Ballet:

  • Pink leotard (with or without skirt), pink tights, pink ballet shoes.
  • Hair should be pulled back.

Ballet I-III, Intro Pointe:

  • Black leotard, pink tights, split sole ballet shoes
  • Black ballet skirt acceptable for Ballet III and Pointe
  • Hair must be secured in a BUN!!

Ballet/Point IV:

  • Any color leotard, black or pink tights (NO TAN COLORED TIGHTS!).
  • Ballet skirt or ballet shorts acceptable, but no tank tops or exercise shorts.
  • Hair must be secured in a BUN!!

Lyrical:

  • Lyrical shoes.
  • Tight-fitting clothes.

Jazz:

  • Split-sole dance shoe.

Tap:

  • Tap shoes with a low heel.

Hip Hop:

  • Plain white sneakers.
  • Sweat-pants and sweat-shirts are acceptable.
  • No street clothes or jeans.
