Juliet
Settlemier - Instructor
Juliet is a graduate of Northwestern University with a Bachelor
of Science and a Master of Science in Education. She is a certified
pilates mat and reformer instructor, a certified Risist-a-Ball
instructor and an Arch of Leadership graduate.
Juliet
has been practicing and teaching Pilates since 2001. Prior to
Pilates, she taught group exercise classes, including circuit
training, high & low impact aerobics, body sculpting and other
related cardio classes.
In
teaching Pilates, Juliet focuses not only on form and safety,
but also on the mind-body connection and the healing aspects of
the Pilates Method. Juliet sees herself as a "healer",
and a role model, for clients who want to heal and nurture past
injuries and improve body tone, alignment, posture , as well as
overall life attitude. Using the mind to focus on the structural
alignment of the body and the exercise movements that originate
from the core muscle groups, Juliet teaches her clients to practice
Pilates in a state of consciousness that drives 30% more benefit
than other folks who may mindlessly perform exercises in the gym.
Working as efficiently as possible with mind engagement, clients
perform focused and intentional movements that drive postural
& body alignment shifts, creating changes that are visible
to the naked eye. Clients are encouraged to work to his/her own
threshold, yet not beyond, and it is Juliet's ultimate hope that
clients take their learning with them when they leave class, and
incorporate them into their everyday life!
