Michelle Dirck - Dance Effects Founder, Consultant and Instructor

Michelle Dirck founded Dance Effects in 1994. She has studied dance in the bay area, Los Angeles, and with touring conventions. She previously taught and choreographed for the scholarship dance group and 3rd Street Dance Academy in Los Angeles as well as co-taught at Dupree Dance Conventions with George Alexander. Michelle holds a BA in Child Development, a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and an MA in EdAd from SJSU. Along with keeping up with dance, Michelle previously taught elementary school in the Moreland School District. Michelle is continuing on at Dance Effects as a consultant and instructor. She has produced and directed many Winter Showcase performances featuring the performance groups at Dance Effects as well as some of the best bay area dance teams, studios and companies. The Dance Effects lyrical performance teams choreographed by Michelle have been featured in local performances such as Meritage II, Ariels Dance Performances, Tap Explosions Productions as well as local festivals and community events. Soloist dancers studying under Michelle have been awarded gold medals in many local dance competitions. The hip hop performance team was also featured in the San Francisco Hip Hop Fest. Michelle looks forward to continuing her artistic endeavors and expanding the performance possibilities of her dancers.
