Dance Effects COVID Safety Protocols
The following protocols have been established for the safety of our dancers, families, and staff.
General Safety and Health Protocols
To reduce contact, each teacher is only teaching one session per 3-week period and each class will have a maximum of 10 students.
All staff will screen for COVID before coming to work.
Temperature checks will be done for all dancers and staff with a no-touch infrared thermometer prior to entering the studio. Anyone with a temperature of over 100 will not be permitted in the building.
Teachers and staff will wear masks, but dancers will not be required to wear masks while in class. It is generally not safe to exercise with a mask on.
Dance floors are clearly marked with boundaries to maintain social distancing.
Lobby is closed to viewing.
Dancers must bring their own water. The water cooler is closed.
Hand washing or sanitizing is required at the beginning and end of each class.
Drop Off and Pick Up Protocols
The back parking lot will be used as a drive-up drop off / pick up area.
Parents must remain in their car to drop off or pick up their dancer(s).
Dancers must wait outside before being checked in to the studio.
Dancer check-in will start 10 minutes prior to class so class can start on time.
Dancers over age 6 should wear a mask during check-in.
During check-in the teacher scans the forehead of each dancer with the hands-free infrared thermometer to ensure they do not have a temperature of 100 or higher.
Dancers must wash their hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer before starting class. Once they enter dancers go directly to a square on the floor with their belongings.
Dancers are only allowed to bring in a water bottle, dance shoes and a mask. Other personal belongings are not permitted.
After class dancers will be dismissed from the studio while maintaining social distance.
Dancers will use hand sanitizer upon exiting the studio.
The studio is cleaned in its entirety daily either before or after classes.
After each class, the floors are sprayed with a disinfectant approved to fight Covid-19 and mopped with a microfiber mop. The contact time for this disinfectant is 1 minute. All high touch surfaces are wiped down and the bathroom is cleaned with disinfectant approved by the EPA to fight Covid-19.
